Las noticias de 1st Grade-1o Primero

Los animales de la granja

¡Hola familias! 1st grade has been studying los animales de la granja, can you ask your little one how we make a caballo? A gallina? A vaca? Hint, there is one specific gesture for every animal...

Here is a game to review farm animals:

Animales de la granja memory

Also, we have been learning a song about cute, little pollitos, canta conmigo:

As far as shapes and shape-monsters go, we are all done now. Check out mine, his name is Pepe:

Tiene una barriga grande de óvalo y seis piernas con seis pies de estrella. Tiene un bigote grande en la barriga (oh, bigote, how you make us giggle!) Tiene una cabeza de triángulo pequeña y un ojo, es un cíclope. Tiene pelo pincho en la cabeza. Tiene dos brazos y dos manos de corazón.

Ask your 1st grader about their shape-monsters and his/her partner's...

Las noticias de 5o

¡Hola familias!

Our 5th grade España project is all done! Phew! ¡Bravo y bien hecho, chicos! The students researched 6 different regions: Andalucía, Castila y León, Cataluña, Galicia, Madrid y el País Vasco. Some lucky students got to research the Islas Baleares, too!. Then we all had a museum walk and admired each others posters and research, while filling out a chart with missing information. Here is a sample taste of the work.

Next on our agenda, a "trip-viaje" with some packing to Spain... Ask your 5th grader what halterofilia means, or qué significa pesado? ¿Cuál es el opuesto de ligero? What is the story all about? And most importantly, are they ready for the performance? Dun, dun, dun...

Las noticias de 6o

¡Hola familias!

6th grade has been busy with a little introduction to México and Puerto Rico project, our next units. 6th graders have done a little research that has finally come to an end, phew! Hard work! ¡Bravo y bien hecho! Ask your students about their country, their field of expertise, and lo más estupendo they have learned.

3rd grade puppets

Things have been very showbiz-y in 3rd grade! The students have been busy rehearsing for a show with marionetas: they are all from México, have Spanish names, speak español, and live in a town in México either al norte, al sur, al este o al oeaste. Ask your 3rd graders about it! The marionetas interview different friends, asking and answering questions like: ¿cómo te llamas? and ¿cuántos años tienes? or ¿dónde vives?

Spoiler alert! Although most puppets are either 8 or 9, some puppets are 15, some others are 24, and there is one who is 1000 years old, ha!

Shapes

1st. GRADE

¡Hola familias, bienvenidos!

We have been working hard at establishing routines, playing games and singing songs.
What happens when Profe Morales shakes her maracas? Do you remember the song?

Since the beginning of the school year we have covered numbers, weather, shapes, emotions and body parts. ¡Bravo, first graders!

Do you want to review colors?  silly color game

Do you remember any shapes? Can you tell your family what shapes this robot is made out of in español?

3rd GRADE

¡Hola familias, bienvenidos!

Since school started in September we have been busy settling into out emotions and weather routines, the way we interview our friends (ask your third grader, what happens when we say cambio-roo?)
and learning numbers up to 100 and how to describe ourselves before we dive into México.

With this game you can try to guess the secret person in mind, just like we do in Spanish class, would you like to play en español?

Tengo una persona secreta en mi cabeza...
